After spending some time in the US armed forces, Jose Flores still needed something to occupy his idle hands. “Owning a GT-R has always been a dream of mine,” he tells us. After being given the green light from his wife to pick up his dream car, he immediately jumped at the opportunity, and began planning ahead on a build for his new 2009 Nissan GT-R.
His first plan was to just enjoy the car for daily driving, so initial modifications were focused more on style. A Chargespeed Japan kit was ordered to ensure it would still stand out among the plethora of other widebody GT-Rs in his local scene. To come up with a graphic style for the vinyl wrap, Flores and his son messed around with the car creator on some PS4 video games to get an idea what they wanted the final product to look like. Further modifications included a set of Air Lift Performance bags over Bilstein shocks, Savini SV-71 three-piece forged wheels, and Falken tires.
It wasn’t long before Flores wanted to add power and driveability modifications, making his 2009 GT-R a true all-rounder in the spirit of the GT-R’s history. Now, the GT-R boasts a respectable 640 whp, and is built to last as a perfect show car that can handle daily driver duties whenever required.
