KW automotive has introduced its new V3 Safari Style coilover suspension for select Porsche 911, Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg models.

KW V3 Safari Style coilover suspension for the 996-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S.

Unlike traditional coilovers designed to lower a vehicle, the V3 Safari Style provides an adjustable increase in ride height for overlanding and recreational off-road use. Depending on the application, ground clearance can be increased by up to 30 mm.

The new suspension builds on Safari Style systems previously produced through KW’s special projects division, including lifted setups for older air-cooled Porsche 911 models. According to KW, demand for additional applications led to the development of the new production range.

The V3 Safari Style features independently adjustable low-speed compression and rebound damping, with 12 clicks of compression adjustment and 16 clicks of rebound adjustment. Fixed high-speed valves are designed to manage higher damper speeds encountered on rough surfaces.

For the 996-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S, ride height can be increased by 20 to 30 mm at both axles. The same range is available for the 997-generation Carrera 2, Carrera 2S, Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S.

The suspension is also available for the Porsche Cayenne (9PA) and Volkswagen Touareg (7L), providing 0 to 30 mm of additional ride height at the front and 5 to 30 mm at the rear.

All V3 Safari Style systems feature stainless-steel struts and damper bodies. KW says applications for additional vehicle manufacturers are already in development.
