Joshua Zafra was a big fan of Mitsubishi for as long as he could remember way back when he was looking for a project car to build for himself. He remembers that he couldn’t afford the prestigious Lancer Evolution back then, but that didn’t stop him from falling in love with the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse on the showroom floor.
“There was something about the look of the Eclipse that I thought was different from the rest of the competition,” Zafra tells us. When everyone was building 350Zs, G35s, Hondas, and Mustangs, he decided to follow in the steps of Paul Walker and Tyrese and pick up the Eclipse to modify extensively. Extensive modification was exactly what was in store for the Mitsubishi coupe.
Using his own hands and hard earned money, Zafra has completely transformed the Eclipse inside and out. The exterior consists of a wild combination of Duraflex components and DailyMotiveCustoms door flares, with a bunch of custom additions, finished off in Sunset Red 3-stage paint. A set of 20-inch gold XXR 526 wheels set of the color scheme just right.
With bolstered engine performance and a custom interior consisting of carbon fiber trim and tons of mobile electronics, the car has taken home several show awards, and Zafra says he isn’t even finished yet! Keep an eye on this build as it continues to grow.
