MECA World Champion: Rafael Capone’s 2005 Hummer H2

Rafael Capone has been interested in car audio and custom cars since he was just a kid, and has been building cars since 1990. He was at Spring Break Nationals in 2013 with his old competition Camaro when he saw - and heard - a white truck with a motorized bed full of speakers. The build was so awe-inspiring that Capone decided he would build something of his own back in Atlanta.

Once back in Atlanta, he picked up a 2005 Hummer H2, largely because of its unlimited potential as a sound-stage. He thanks Traffic Jam Motorsports for their instrumental role in building the vehicle he now calls the “Soul Asylum H2.”

With great design ideas from their top fabricator, Michael Bischoff, they managed to fit 82 speakers and 11 amplifiers in total, and included his biggest desire - the motorized lifting top hat full of gear! Today, the Hummer holds three MECA World Champion SQL titles, and has spent multiple years as the MECA SQL state champion.
