LA QUINTA, CA – (April 29, 2010) – Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. today announced Cartronics as the winner of its fourth annual Pioneer Sound Build-Off competition for building this year’s ultimate sound demonstration / competition vehicle, honored at the company’s annual Car Electronics Road Show held in La Quinta, Calif., on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.  Cartronics’ 2010 Chevy Carmaro, prevailed over eleven other retail competitors from across the nation who utilized Pioneer’s high-end Stage 4 car audio components to win the grand prize of $10,000 and the esteemed title of 2010 Pioneer Sound Build-Off Champion.

“We wanted the 2010 Sound Build-Off to clearly illustrate the Stage 4 system’s capabilities to produce the highest sound quality possible, as well as the importance of a quality installation to help achieve the ultimate in-car listening experience.  Each participating retailer will use their demo cars as a promotional and sales tool throughout the year to provide potential customers a listen to the unique audio experience that an expertly designed and installed Stage 4 system creates,” said Ted Cardenas, director of marketing for the car electronics department, sales and marketing division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc.  “Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the Stage 4 retailers who participated in this year’s event.”

Dealers participating in the event were given approximately six weeks to build their vehicle around a package of Stage 4 products.  Each of the 12 vehicles competing were evaluated and scored by official sound quality and installation judges using the 2010 International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA) Pro Class rules.  All attendees of the Build-off were also asked to vote for their favorite vehicle, which accounted for a portion of each competitor’s overall score.

After an exciting day of judging, the 2010 Chevy Camaro by Cartronics was declared the winner and awarded a $10,000 check plus the Pioneer Sound Build-Off championship trophy.   The 1999 Mercedes CLK 430 by Sound Sensations was awarded second place and the 2001 Chevy Corvette Z06 by Metro Audio Dynamics placed third.
