Import Face-Off 2010: Baton Rouge, LA

Johnny Williams pulled the upset win in the FWD class after number qualifier and 2010 points leader, Aaron Lopez (San Antonio, TX) timed out in the first round of eliminations. Aaron was looking to take the easy win, but he did not realize the timing clock started as soon as his opponent’s second staging bulb flickers. The second bulb never stayed completely lite, only flickered, due to an extremely shallow stage. Before the second bulb, both racers sat on one light playing a “staging duel” for about 15 seconds. This just goes to show there is more to drag racing…

Hot Import Nights 2012: Los Angeles

Yet another beautiful day in Los Angeles, CA. The sun is shining, the breeze glides through, and the traffic never fails us. The foot traffic that is, with the ESPY Awards being setup at the Staples Center, Popcon and Indonesia conventions happening in the opposite halls; people were everywhere. As we leave the sunny bright skies outside, we walk into the dark club atmosphere lit South Hall where Hot Import Nights took over. They had their comeback, "The Return," last December in the exact location. we recall the event being very dark and extremely loud with a DJ at almost…

Geisha Events and Night Motorsport Subaru of Ontario

No helicopters, no news media, far from a "Flash Mob", but they say quality overcomes quantity almost always. This was definitely the case at the Subaru of Ontario Event hosted by Geisha Events, Cars4Cancer & Night Motorsport. From the Model Contest being hosted by the beautiful Melyssa Grace, to the cars ranging from supercars such as the Audi R8 and Nissan R35 GTR, to the super modified 350z's and honda S2k's.  The vintage Datsun Bluebird was just epic! Congratulations to Marissa Hiroko for winning the Model Contest, and all car category winners were announced on the event page. With…

DMCC Round 6 2012: St-Eustache, QC

The sixth stop for the DMCC series took place at the Autodrome St Eustache, just north of Montreal, over Labour Day weekend. Two-time DMCC champion, Matt Waldin came out to the event to stir things up, but sadly, on Sunday, his engine let go ending it early. As bad as it was, it would have been nice to see him battling it out in the top 16. Matt was not the only one to suffer engine failures. Francis Tasse and “Paco” both had their engines blow during practice leaving the field already three drivers down. Aside from the engine failures,…
