Scion FR-S RC Rally Cup

Scion recently teamed up with R/C company HPI to throw the first-ever FR-S Cup. Held at Toyota’s Torrance, California, corporate headquarters, this just-for-fun event featured a variety of FR-S-based R/C races, an FR-S R/C car show, and even appearances from Scion luminaries like Stephen Papadakis and Five Axis’ Troy Sumitomo. Prizes were awarded throughout the day – we didn’t win anything, but given that we didn’t completely embarrass ourselves during our competition heat, we came out feeling like winners anyway.…

Street Driven Tour 2016: Las Vegas

Putting the wraps on a successful second season, Street Driven Tour welcomed drifters and fans back to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the second time in as many years with a full day of bash-style drifting and automotive excitement, and was rewarded with its strongest attendance to date. Held in conjunction with StanceWars and Supras Invade Las Vegas, Street Driven Tour’s simple recipe of open-to-all drift bashing, a contemporary show and meet, local vendor support, signature Drift Mini Games, and new-for-this-year drag racing on the Las Vegas strip (the ¼-mile strip at the Speedway, that is) proved once again how…

APR Motorsport 1 - 2 at Watkins Glen

“Success is where preparation and opportunity meet.” - Bobby Unser Watkins Glen NY: The race was set to begin with APR Motorsport’s cars in completely unfamiliar territory, the rear of the field.  The Championship Leading car #171 VW DriverGear GTI MK6 suffered an engine related failure shortly before qualifying and was unable to post a time while the #161 Perfect Pedal VW GTI MK5 and the #181 VW DriverGear GTI MK6 both had their qualifying times disallowed due to a minor technical infraction.   This was very disappointing because the #181 GTI of Chris Gleason Jr. had qualified in pole position…
